use v^2 - u^2 = 2as...calculate a

10^2-30^2 = 2*a*240 => a = - 800/480 = -1.667 m/sec2

Now if you increase a by 12.5%, it'll be -800*1.125/480 = -1.875 m/sec2

reuse above eq to solve for 'S' ...given V=0, u = 30 and a from above is -1.875
S = (0 - 30^2) / 2*(-1.875) = 900/3.75 = 240

for Q2.. use s = ut-1/2at^2 (calculate for t) where s=12, a = -4, u = 10

PunitB: in q2 ....t will have two values as it is a quadratic equation
