Question:

\sf{\dfrac{\alpha}{3\beta} + \dfrac{\beta}{3\alpha}}

Write in terms of \alpha + \beta and \alpha \beta

Solution:

\sf{=\dfrac{\alpha}{3\beta} + \dfrac{\beta}{3\alpha}}

\sf{=\dfrac{(\alpha)²+(\beta)²}{3\alpha \beta}}

= \bold{\red{\dfrac{(\alpha+\beta)²-2\alpha \beta}{3\alpha \beta}}}

Extra information:

\sf{•\:(a+b)²=a²+b²+2ab}

\sf{•\:(a-b)²=a²+b²-2ab}

\sf{•\:(a+b)(a-b)=a²-b²}
