in Question 1, it can only be possible when the triangle is isosceles triangle otherwise basic proportionality theorem should be used.

if it is a isosceles triangle

as two sides are equal,

5x-2 = 3x+4

5x-2-3x = 4

2x -2 = 4

2x = 6

x = 6/3 = 3

now, perimeter is sum of all sides

therefore perimeter =

5x-2+3x+4+3x

now x = 3

5(3) - 2 + 3(3) + 4 + 3(3)

15 - 2 + 9 + 4 + 9

= 35² units.
