cosec + cot = p

As we know cosec^2 - cot^2 = 1

( cosec + cot)( cosec- cot) = 1

p( cosec - cot) = 1

cosec - cot = 1/p

And cosec + cot = p

Add

2 cosec = p + 1/p

cosec = ( p + 1/p)/2

Now subtract both

- 2 cot = 1/p - p

cot = p - 1/p )/ 2

Now cot /cosec = cos

So p - 1/p)/ 2 )/ ( p + 1/p)/2))

p ^ 2 - 1)/ (p^2 +1)

hey I am using A instead of theta in the solution...

cosec A+cot A=p

1/sinA + cosA/sinA = p

1+cosA = psinA

Squaring both the sides

(1+cosA)² = p² (sinA)²

(1+cosA)² = p² (1-(cos)²)

(1+cosA)² = p² (1-(cos)) (1+cosA)

1+cosA = p² (1-cosA)

cosA = (p²-1)/(p²+1)

Hence proved
