Answer:

600,400

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the cost price be Saree be x and cost price of Sweater be y.

(i)

Saree is sold at profit of 8%.

So, Selling price of saree = x + (8x/100) = 108x/100

Sweater is sold at discount of 10%.

So, Selling price of sweater = y - (10y/100) = 9y/10

Given that both are sold for 1008 rs.

⇒ (108x/100) + (9y/10) = 1008

⇒ 108x + 90y = 100800

⇒ 6x + 5y = 5600

⇒ x = (5600 - 5y)/6

(ii)

Saree is sold at 10% profit.

So, Selling price of saree = 11x/10

Sweater is sold at a discount of 8%.

So, Selling price of Sweater = y - (8y/100) = 92y/100

Given that, both are sold for 1028.

⇒ (11x/10) + (92y/100) = 1028

⇒ 110x + 92y = 102800

⇒ [110(5600 - 5y)/6] + 92y = 102800

⇒ 616000 + 2y = 616800

⇒ 2y = 800

⇒ y = 400

Substitute y = 400 in (i), we get

⇒ x = (5600 - 5y)/6

⇒ x = (5600 - 2000)/6

⇒ x = 600

Therefore:

Cost price of the saree = 600

List price of the sweater = 400

Hope it helps!
