Maximum reabsorption of the glomerular filtrate occurs in the proximal convoluted tubule , therefore, filtrate becomes hypertonic to blood plasma in the descending limb of loop of Henle. ... In collecting duct further reabsorption occurs which makes the filtrate hypertonic. Thus human urine is hypertonic.
