Lets say that the no. of hours passed = x

So , the equation will be -

24 - x= 1/7*x

= 1/7*x+x= 24

By taking LCM ,

x+7x/7=24

8x/7=24

8x=24*7

x=24*7/8

x=3*7

x=21

So 21 hours already passed from the day

so no. of hours left =24-21=3

We know that a day ends by 12 a.m.

so we subtract 3 hours and we get 9 p.m.
