- Strong Patriotic feelings - youth should have deep love for the country.
- Physical strength - should have the energy and stamina to serve the country specially in the army, navy or air force.
- Mental stability - For any role of service to the nation, the youth should be of sound mind
- Detachment from worldly possessions- If serving in defence sector, the youth will have to rough it out, and learn to live with less belongings.
