Step 2) make an angle of 45 degree at point B, draw a Ray, let say BD.

Step 3) mark a point 'E' on ray BD of 1cm(AB = 1cm + AC)

Step 4) Now take compass, try to find a point “A" on ray BD such that AC = AE.

Step 5) join AC.
