The usage of apostrophe in the given group of words are as follows -

  • My mother's saree.

Here, we used apostrophe to show the possession of the noun "mother" towards the saree.

  • The cats' tails.

Here, we used only stand alone apostrophe ('), after the the plural noun which already ends with a "s".

  • The Mala's birthday.

Here, we used apostrophe to show the possession of the noun "Mala" towards the birthday.

  • The Mrs. Biswas's house.

Here, we used a normal apostrophe, as the "s" at the end of the "Biswas" doesn't represent the plural noun form.
