Area of the trapezium is 25 cm²

Given:

The dimensions of the trapezium are

The length of the sides are 3 cm and 7 cm

The height of the trapezium is 5 cm

To find:

The area of the figure

Solution:

Formula used:

Area of the trapezium A = 1/2(a+b)h

where a and b are sides and h is the height of the trapezium

From the data,

=> a = 3 cm

=> b = 7 cm

=> h = 5 cm

Area of the figure, A = 1/2 [ 3 + 7 ] 5

= 1/2 [ 10 ] 5 = 5 × 5  = 25 cm²

Hence,

Area of the trapezium is 25 cm²
