or thousand 998 :- 1000

sub 998 from 1000 will be 2

now multiply 102 to 1000 and 2

as 998 is smaller than thousand

(102×1000)-(102×2)

102000-204 = 101796 is answer

or if you want to round 102 steps are below:-

102 :- 100

102-100=2

as 102 is greater than 100

(998×100)+(998×2)

99800+1996 = 101796

so,both answers are same
