Given :  A triangular Prism with dimensions

To find :  lateral area and surface area of the given prism.

Solution:

Lateral   area = perimeter * height

Perimeter = 4 + 8 + 8.94  = 20.94 m

Lateral Area = 20.94 * 41  =  858.54 m²

Surface area = lateral Area + 2 ( Base Area)

Base Area = area of triangle with side 4 , 8 & 8.94

s = ( 4 + 8 + 8.94)/2 = 10.47 m

Area of triangle =  √(10.47 (10.47 - 4)(10.47 - 8)(10.47 - 8.94))

= √(10.47 (6.47)(2.47)(1.53))

= 16 m²

Surface area = 858.54 + 2 ( 16)

= 890.54 m²

Lateral Area =  858.54 m²

Surface area =  890.54 m²
