Wool from sheep requires much more attention from the shepherd to protect and
maintain his flock and isn’t as easily scaled up or industrialized.
Wool takes more processing, too, as it must be cleaned and can’t be scrubbed hard due to felting. All of this gets added into the cost of a pound of fabric.
