The Dead Sea is also known as the Salt Sea. it is a salt lake bordering Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west.it is located in the Jordan Rift Valley, it is the “Sea of Death”.it is the lowest point on Earth at 430.5 meters 1412 feet below sea level. it was known to be dead sea because of its features. the fact is in later Romans it was more precious than anything and salt was used to pay everyone. it was known that some people had come and they had named it dead sea in olden times because they thought that it is filled with creatures.it was very much deep than anything but then after 10000 years it dropped in such a level that it is lower than today's lakes. it was due to volcanic activity, that is why it is dead sea.
