- The element potassium(K) is in group I of Mendeleev's periodic table in which general formula is R2O. Similarly, the formula of oxide of potassium(K) is K2O
- Element carbon(C) is in group IV of Mendeleev's periodic table. The general formula of oxide is R2O, and so the formula of oxide of carbon(C) is CO2.
- Using the above way of finding oxides, the oxide of Al is Al2O3.
- Oxide of Si is SiO2.
- The oxide of Ba is BaO.
