Mutation strains are known to harbour mutants, which are formed during the alteration of nucleotides with DNA. It affects the operation, expression and function of the gene or the protein product.

The visible property and formation is completely different from its parent strain. It creates new variations, repairs damaged DNA, reprograms metabolic activity and controls synthesis.

Information is included as per requirement into microbes via strain development. Hence, mutant strains regulate genetic combinations, crossovers and processes that is essential in microbiology.
