A tyre gets smaller when you take air out from it because:
- Air consists of many, very small particles which are constantly moving or are in a continuous state of motion.
- These particles collide with the walls of the tyre and exert a pressure due to which the tyre is inflated.
- But when some of the particles are taken out, the pressure decreases inside the tyre and as a result, the tyre gets smaller.
(All the explanations given above are on the basis of particle theory)
