6. Fuels are of three main types. They are:

• Solid fuels:

       (i) Solid fuels are those fuels that are solid in nature.

      (ii) They refer to both biomass fuels and coal.

      (iii)The common fuel used for cooking and heating is wood, charcoal,       and agricultural residues like leaves and grasses.

• Liquid fuels:

       (i) Liquid fuels are energy-generating molecules that can be used to create mechanical energy

      (ii) It usually produces kinetic energy.

      (iii) Some important liquid fuels are shale io, coal tar, crude petroleum, etc.

• Gaseous fuels:

      (i) Gaseous fuels include natural gas, water gas, produce gas, and coal gas.

     (ii) They can be used for heat treatment, cutting, welding, etc.
