GivEn:

  • Length of rectangle = 8cm
  • Breadth of rectangle = 6cm

To find:

  • Diagonal of rectangle ?

Solution:

• Let's consider ABCD is a rectangle.

Where,

  • Base = Length = 8 cm
  • Perpendicular = Breadth = 6 cm
  • Hypotenus = Diagonal

• Let Breadth of rectangle be b m.

⠀⠀━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⠀

« Now, By using Pythagoras Theorem,

→ (Perpendicular)² + (Base)² = (Hypotenuse

→ h² = (6)² + (8)²

→ h² = 36 + 64

→ h² = 100

→ √h² = √100

h = 10 cm

∴ Hence, Diagonal of the rectangle is 10 cm.
