Answer:

by identity,

(x+a) (x+b)=x^2+(a+b)x+ab

it can be written as,

(2x+1) (2x+(-4))

x=2x

a=1

b=-4

substituting the values,

x^2+(a+b)x+ab

(2x)^2+(1+(-4))+1×-4

2x^2+(-3)+(-4)

2x^2-3-4

2x^2-7

answer is 2x^2-7
