Use the diagram below to answer parts A – C.
m∠HJL=(26x-7)° and m∠LJK=(10x+7)°
What is the value of x?

Both the angles when added will give us the value up of 180° and in order to find x we will solve the question like this:

26 x - 7 + 10 x + 7 = 180

10 x + 26x = 180

36 x = 180

180 is 36 times bigger than x so we will divide the both sides by 36:

x = 180 / 36

x will be equal to 5

- 26(5) - 7 = 130 - 7 = 123°

-  10(5) + 7 = 50 + 7 = 57°

To verify the answer we will add both these answers

123° + 57° = 180°
