SOLUTION

TO DETERMINE

The value of (2.05)² & (5.94)²

FORMULA TO BE IMPLEMENTED

 \sf{1. \:  \:  {(a + b)}^{2}  =  {a}^{2} + 2ab +  {b}^{2}  }

 \sf{2. \:  \:  {(a  -  b)}^{2}  =  {a}^{2}  -  2ab +  {b}^{2}  }

EVALUATION

1.

 \sf{ {(2.05)}^{2}   }

 \sf{ =  {(2 + 0.05)}^{2}   }

 \sf{  =  {(2)}^{2} + 2 \times 2 \times 0.05 +  {(0.05)}^{2}  }

 = 4 + 0.2 + 0.0025

 = 4.2025

2.

 \sf{{(5 .94)}^{2}   }

 \sf{ = {(6 - 0.06)}^{2}    }

 \sf{=  {(6)}^{2}  -  2  \times 6 \times 0.06 +  {(0.06)}^{2}  }

 = 36 - 0.72 + 0.0036

 = 35.2836
