use the factor theoram to determine whether g(x) is a factor of p (x)
(i) p(x)=x⁴-x³+x-1, g (x)=x+1
(ii)x⁵-x⁴+3x²-2x+4,g (x)=x-3​

i)x+1=0

x=-1

p(-1)=(-1)^4-(-1)^3+(-1)-1

=1+1-1-1

=0

yes x+1 is a factor of the equation......

ii)x-3=0

x=3

g(3)=3^5+3*3^2-2*3+4

=243+27-6+4

=268

no x-3 is not a factor of equation.......
