use the graphs to solve the simultaneous equations y=7-x and y=x-1

Answer 1

y = 7 - x .....(1)

y = x - 1 .....(2)

by equation 1 and 2 we get,

x-1 = 7-x

:- 2x = 7+1 = 8

:- x = 8 ÷ 2

x = 4 ......(3)

substituting values of (3) in (2) we get,

y = x - 1

x = 4

:- y = 4 - 1

:- y = 3
