In the periodic table the valency 2 is shown by the elements in group 2.For example Berrylium(Be), Magnesium(Mg), Calcium(Ca) etc.

Berrylium(₄Be)-2,2               (valence =+2)

Magnesium(₁₂Mg)-2,8,2       (valency=+2)

Valency -2 is shown by group 16 elements like Oxygen

Oxygen(₈O)-2,6                  (Valency=-2)

Valency 6 is not shown by any elements because six electrons cannot be gained or released because very high amount of energy is required for such process.
