Given:

(-230 )+ 79+ 51 _(-399) +159+81

To Find:

The Sign >, < or = in the blank

Solution:

Here we have to find the sign in the blank. For that, we will solve the RHS and LHS of the given expression.

According to the question:

(-230 )+ 79+ 51 _(-399) +159+81

LHS

(-230 )+ 79+ 51

= -230+130        [As 79+ 51 = 130]

= -100

Now,

RHS

(-399) +159+81

=-399 + 240

=-159

As we know that, -100 is greater than -159 ( the greater the negative number the smaller it is.

So,

LHS > RHS

Hence, the sign in the blank is (-230 )+ 79+ 51 > (-399) +159+81
