Given

The equation y = 3x+2.

To find

The value of a, b, c and d.

Solution

To find the value of a substitute x= -3 in the equation.

a = 3(-3)+2

  = -9 +2

  =  -7

Substitute x= -1 in the equation to find the value of b.

b = 3(-1)+2

  = -3 +2

  =  -1

Substitute x= 1 in the equation to find the value of c.

c = 3(1)+2

  = 3 +2

  = 5

Substitute x= 2 in the equation to find the value of d.

d = 3(2)+2

  = 6 +2

  = 8

Hence the value of a, b, c, and d is -7, -1, 5 and 8 respectively.
