Given : a Graph

To Find : Use the vertical line test to determine whether the graph represents a function.

Solution:

The vertical line test is a visual way to determine if a curve is a graph of a function or not.

The graph represents a function if there are NO vertical lines that INTERSECT the graph at more than one point.

A function can  have only  one output, y, for each unique input, x.

Hence in Vertical test  , Vertical lines are drawn  if any vertical line intersect graph at more than one  points then graph is not a function

As that implies for one unique input there are more than one outputs

As from graph its clearly visible if we draw vertical lines then any vertical line  will not intersect graph at more than one point

Hence graph is a function

Given  graph represents a function.
