some protozoans are harmful to man as these cause serious diseases . protozoan infections can have a wide range of effects on body depending on the type of protozoan involved .
protozoan that spread through unclean food and water usually affect digestive system by living and multiplying in intestine . ex - ascariasis and malarial diseases.
on the other hand these help to control the population of bacteria as well as other protozoans by feeding on them . controlling the population of other organisms is important in maintaining ecological balance and diversity
