Uses of bad conductors:-
•Woollen clothes are bcoz wool is an insulator and traps the body heat.
•Thermocol is used to make ice boxes to store ice bcoz being an insulator, it does not conduct the surrounding heat into the box.
•Ice is a poor conductor of heat. Eskimos live in igloos made of ice blocks. These does not allow the heat inside to escape and keep it warm.
Uses of Good conductors :-
•Cooking utensils are made of metals so that heat is easily transfered to cooked food.
•Coils of refrigerator and air conditioner are made of copper to conduct away heat.
•Soldering iron rods are made of iron with a tip made of copper bcoz copper is much better conductor of heat than iron.
