Explanation:

Materials like glass and plastic are poor electrical conductors, and are called insulators. They are used to stop electricity from flowing where it is not needed or where it can be dangerous, such as through our bodies. Cables are wires covered in plastic so we can handle them safely.

Aluminum , copper and stainless steel are good heat conductors as they are metals , They are used in making cooking pots and the kettles that are used in the houses and the factories .

Things which are bad conductors of heat are used as insulators. In same occasions it is important  

(1) To prevent heat loss from a hot body  

(2) Fur, wool, cotton wool, cork, feathers, sawdust, trapped air in birds' feathers etc.

(3) To prevent heat from entering cold body.
