Uses of important types of maps

There are five types of maps:
1) Topographical:
Topographical maps help to map the landscape.
2) Thematic:
thematic maps are designed to highlight specific topics. It can be anything from geology like population etc..
3) Navigational maps:
these maps are used to navigate routes when we are in air or water.
4)Physical map:
 Physical maps display the physical features of a place.
5) Political map:
 Political maps are used to display imaginary boundaries such as state or nation etc..

There are different types of maps available which has different and important use are as follows:

1. Physical map - Physical maps are used to see the "physical features" of places such as mountains, lakes, ocean, river and etc.
2. Topographic map - This map also shows the physical features but in a different way. Topographic maps present contour lines instead of colors.
3. Political map - "Political maps" are used to define the national boundaries and state location.
4. Road map - Road maps shows highways and roads. Apart from this, these type of maps also tell about the size of roads.
5. Economic map - Economic maps the arrangement of natural resources and economic activity within a place.
6. Climate map - These maps are used to know the climatic conditions of a place.
