uses of metal,nonmetal,metalloids
Answers
#Some uses of metals are as follows :
1)Aluminium foils are used for packaging medicines, chocolates, decorating sweets, wrapping food, etc.
2)Aluminium metal (in the form of alloys) is used to make aeroplanes.
Iron, copper, and aluminium metals are used for making cooking utensils.
#Some uses of non metals are as follows:
1)Chlorine is used in bleaching powder and liquid bleach, which are used for cleaning purposes. Chlorine is also very efficient disinfectant, hence added in public water to kill disease causing pathogens. Noble gases such as neon, argon, krypton are used in different types of lights.
#Some uses of metalloids are as follows:
1)tellurium. Rare semimetal that is used especially in the manufacture of detonators, electric resistors, rubber, ceramics and glass.
2)antimony. Semimetal that is used in several alloys (mostly with lead) and especially in making metal for printing type and semiconductors.
Uses of Metal, Non-metal and Metalloids are as follow -
Few uses of non - metals :
- Oxygen is the most important non-metal used for breathing.
- Chlorine is another non-metal used to purify the water.
- Phosphorous is used in flareguns.
- Fertilizer is made from nitrogen and potassium
- Graphites are another non-metal used for their good electricity conducting properties.
- Nitrogen also has great importance in plants.
- Carbon is an important fuel.
Few uses of metals :
- Copper is an immensely used metal that helps to produce electrical wires, cooking utensils, etc.
- Zinc act as a protective layer for iron prevents it from rusting.
- Metals such as iron and steel are heavily used in the construction
- Lead is still widely used in batteries.
- Sodium is another metal used as common salt.
- Uranium is a common name in nuclear sites.
Few uses of Metalloids :
- They are very useful in alloy
- They act as good biological agents and catalyst
- They are also used in semiconductors.
Apart from these, there are countless uses of both metal and non-metal and metalloids. Even our body has to maintain the right amount of all the elements to perform daily activities.
