REACTION: when gypsum or calcium sulphate is heated at 373kelvin we get plaster of Paris and hemihydrated water molecule
CaSo4. 10H2O gives when heated on 373kelvin CaSo4. 1/2H2O

Uses Of Plaster Of Paris
1) It is used by the doctor for joining the fractured bones at right position that is for making plaster to support of fractured bones
2) it is also used for making decorative piece and for making designs on ceiling



plaster of paris is a white powder on mixing with water it changes to gypsum giving a hard solid mass
CaSO4+1/2H2O+1×1/2H2O
