Usha swims in a 100 m long pool. She covers 200 m in one minute by swimming from one end to the other and back along the same straight path. Find the average speed and average velocity of Usha.

Distance = 200m

Time = 1 min = 60sec

Average speed = total distance covered / total time taken

= 200m / 60 sec

= 3.33 m/s

Displacement = 0m/s ( as usha come back along the same path so, the intial and final position is same )

displacement= final position - initial position

= 100 -100 = 0m

Average velocity = displacement/ time

= 0m / 60 s

= 0m/s
