Solution:

consider the attached figure,while going through the following steps.

since given is a Pythagorean triplet,we have, 5^2+6^2=(√61)^2

Draw a line AB with a scale of 5cm.

From point B draw a perpendicular line of length 6cm

Mark the other point as C.

join AC.

Hence the required segment AC of length √61cm.
