first iteration-

f(x)=x^2-5=0

f(2)=-1

f(3)=4

Now for second iteration

\frac{x_1+x_2}{2}=\frac{2+3}{2}  =\frac{5}{2}

  f(\frac{5}{2} )=\frac{5}{4}

Now f(2)\times f(\frac{5}{2} )<0

Thus interval will be(2,5/2)
