(i) 439 × 997
= 439 × (1000 – 3)
= 439 × 1000 – 439 × 3 [Using Distributive law]
= 439000 – 1317
= 437683

= 541 × (1000 + 3)
= 541 × 1000 + 541 × 3 [Using Distributive Law]
= 541000 + 1623
= 542623
