7x - 2y - 20= 0________(1)

11x + 15y + 23 = 0__________(2)

Multiply (1) by 15, 105x - 30y - 300__________(3)

Multiply (2) by 2, 22x + 30y + 46___________(4)

Now, (3)-(4)

105x - 30y -300

(22x + 30y + 46)

127x - 254 =0

127x = 254

x = 254/127

x = 2

Put x=2 in(1)

7(2)-2y=20

-2y = 20 -14

2y = -6

y =-3

Therefore, x=2 and y=-3

Answer:

7x - 2y =20 (i)

11x + 15y = -23 (ii)

multiplying eq.(i) by 11 and eq. (ii) by 7 we get;

77x - 22y = 220...i

77x + 105y = -161.....ii

eliminating i) eq from ii)

77x+105y = -161

-77x+22y = -220

127y = -381

y = -381

127

y=-3

substituting y in eq. i)

7x - 2(-3) = 20

7x + 6 = 20

7x = 14

x = 2

hope it helps
