ANSWER:

given two equations are

4x - 3y = 8 \\  \\ 18x - 3y = 29

REQUIRED TO FIND:

solve the equations by elimination method

METHOD:

let us look at the method

for eliminating one variable ,,

4x - 3y = 8................(1) \\  \\  \\ 18x - 3y = 29...........(2)

(1) - (2)

 \:  \:  \:  \: 4x - 3y =8 \\  \\  ( - )18x - 3y = 29 \\  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  - \\  \\  - 14x =  - 21 \\  \\  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -

x =  \frac{21}{14}  =  \frac{3}{2}

4 \times  \frac{3}{2}  - 3y = 8 \\ y =  \frac{ - 2}{3}

ELIMINATION METHOD:

In the elimination method

these steps are to be followed

first if x variables or y variables don't have same coefficient,we need to multiply whole equation with some number so that their coefficients becomes equal

→then add or subtract so that one variable will be subtracted

→when u get 1 variable find the other
