Given:              11x + 4y = 12                     ..(i)

                          9x - 4y = 8​                      ..(ii)

now by elimination method,

         11x + 4y = 12                      

          9x - 4y = 8​

        20x = 20

⇒        x = 1

now by putting the value of x in eq (1)

⇒          11x + 4y = 12    

⇒                     4y = 12 - 11(1)

⇒                    y = 1                

           

∴ So the value of x and y = 1 and 1 respectively.
