hey dude as you know that the prime factorization of
240=2*2*2*2*3*5
228=2*2*3*19

now HCF=2*2*3=12

=> So , 240 > 228

Therefore

=> 240 = 228 × 1 + 12

=> 228 = 12 × 19 + 0

=> So here remainder is 0

=> So the answer is 12.

=> The HCF ( 240,228) = 12
