Using factor theorem factorise: f(x)=x3-2x2-x+2​

Answer:

p(x)=x³-2x²-x+2

p(-1)=(-1)³-2(-1)²-(-1)+2=-1-2+1+2=0

therefore, x+1 is the factor of x³-2x²-x+2

x+1)x³-2x²-x+2(x²-3x+2

-(x³+x²)

-3x²-x+2

-(-3x²-3x)

2x+2

-(2x+2)

0

x²-3x+2

x²-1x-2x+2

x(x-1)-2(x-1)

(x-1)(x-2)

therefore, factors of x³-2x²-x+2 are (x-1),(x-2) &(x+1)
