Factories y² – 5y + 6 by using the factor theorem.

= y² – 5y + 6

= y² – 5y + 6 = (y - a) (y - b)

ab = constant term = 6

6 = 6 × 1

6 = 3 × 2

factors of 6 are 1,2,3

y² – 5y + 6

1² – 5 (1) + 6

= 1 - 5 + 6

= 2

2² – 5(2) + 6

= 4 - 10 + 6

= 0

a= 2 b= 3

y² –5y + 6 = (y – a) (y- b)

= (y - 2 ) (y - 3)

I hope this is helps you.
