y² + 2√3y + 3 = 0
=> Sum of roots = - 2√3 and
product of roots = + 3
=> y² + √3y + √3y + 3 = 0
=> y ( y + √3 ) + √3 ( y + √3 ) = 0
=> ( y + √3 ) ( y + √3 ) = 0
=> ( y + √3 )² = 0
=> y = -√3 and -√3
so, these numbers satisfy the above conditions too .
