The world's no.1 rice-producing country is China. Planting and harvesting of rice is done mostly with Machines.

• Weeding, maintaining the paddy and irrigation canals are done by hand only.

• Buffalo's are used for the plowing and preparing of the fields for growing rice.

• In South Korea, most of the farmers now used rototiller tractors to plow the rice paddies.

• Rice crop requires more labor and rice crop is a thirsty crop it needs more water.

• Koreans used fermentation techniques for food preservation. Kimchi is a traditional food made by using fermenting vegetables stored in a brown ceramic pot.
