( a + b )² = + + 2ab

( a b )² = + - 2ab

We are Going to Use (a - b)² identity here.

⇒ ( 99 )²

⇒ ( 100 - 1 )²

  • we can write 99 as [ 100 - 1 = 99 ]

⇒ (100)² + (1)² - (2 × 100 × 1)

⇒ 10,000 + 1 - 200

⇒ 10,001 - 200

9,801

we get (99)² = 9801 using identity (a - b)²
