Example :-

I said to her , " Who are you?"

I asked her who she was.

Rules used here :-

When the reported speech begin with WH question word no other connective is used the wh word itself function as the connective .

When the person asking the question is approached close by the answer giving person the verb come in the reported speech remain unchanged it does not change into go .

Ex → He said to me ," why did you come to me?"

→ He asked me why I had come to him
