It is due to collision and conservation of momentum.
When you hit your head against the wall(do not try or you will be injured)it bleeds sometimes and sometimes a small pain, some times nothing happens just a touch only.
So what can you conclude here?
When your momentum is greater head will be more injured, similar fashion for car crashes.
Hope you understood.
Thanks.
